SELCO NEOMIG 242

The Selco NEOMIG 242 is a classic, extremely robust MIG/MAG welding machine from the Italian premium manufacturer Selco (which was acquired by voestalpine Böhler Welding several years ago).

Unlike modern, fully digital inverter machines, this is a stepped, electromechanical transformer system. This means that it is considerably heavier and larger than a modern compact inverter, but it is considered practically indestructible in metalworking shops and workshops, with an enormous service life and a very stable arc.

Important features & practical advantages

Classic transformer technology: Since no sensitive electronics are installed in the power unit, the NEOMIG 242 tolerates dust, metal grinding dirt and moisture much better than modern inverters. It also operates absolutely reliably under harsh conditions in the workshop or on-site.

Excellent welding properties: Selco was known in the industry for its perfectly matched copper transformers and chokes. The system provides a very spatter-free, smooth and even arc in steel, stainless steel and also in thinner aluminum applications.

Intuitive operation without unnecessary features: No complicated digital menus. You select the appropriate welding level, adjust the wire speed on the potentiometer and can start immediately. Using toggle switches, modes such as 2-cycle / 4-cycle (for long seams) as well as spot and interval welding can also be activated.
