The system utilizes fluorescent UV light sources to simulate the damaging spectrum of sunlight in the laboratory, thereby accelerating aging effects such as color change, loss of gloss, cracking, embrittlement, and material degradation. Programmable cycles of UV exposure, temperature control, and optional humidity or condensation phases are used to realistically replicate and reproducibly repeat environmental stresses.
